Kevin Hart is a filmmaker's dream! Starring in his first film of the year (alongside Tika Sumpter and Ice Cube) Kevin Hart is raking in the moolah for the movie Ride Along. Ride Along decimated the box office this weekend over its rivals Lone Survivor and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, by bringing in a whopping $47 Million! Lone Survivor brought in $23.2 Million and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit brought in a measly $17 Million (it cost $60 Million to make).

If you're unsure what Ride Along is about well here's a little break down:

For the past two years, high-school security guard Ben has been trying to show decorated APD detective James that he's more than just a video-game junkie who's unworthy of James' sister, Angela. When Ben finally gets accepted into the academy, he thinks he's earned the seasoned policeman's respect and asks for his blessing to marry Angela. Knowing that a ride along will demonstrate if Ben has what it takes to take care of his sister, James invites him on a shift designed to scare the hell out of the trainee. But when the wild night leads them to the most notorious criminal in the city, James will find that his new partner's rapid-fire mouth is just as dangerous as the bullets speeding at it.

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube have been doing the press tour for this movie for at least a month now and it seems as though their strong efforts have paid off! Kevin Hart is no stranger to the box office: Let Me Explain, grossed a little over $10 Million in its opening weekend. Overall its domestic gross (USA) was over $32 Million, while its foreign gross was over $73 Million. He's co-starred in other films that were hits as well: Think Like a Man grossed over $32 Million in its opening weekend. Even with all his success Kevin Hart is still humble and down to earth, a trait that is usually lost in most people who achieve his success. In an interview with Vibe Kevin Hart said,

"I laugh all the time because I can't believe where I am in my career. The fact that I have yet to really acknowledge and embrace it is what keeps me motivated to do so much more."
