I would have never thought of Columbus Short as an R&B Singer. He his a multi-talented man. He can definitely dance (he danced and choreographed countless dance films and he even choreographed one of Britney Spears' biggest tours Onyx Hotel Tour) , he's an excellent actor (he successfully moved out of dance flicks to more diverse roles in movies like Quarantine, Armored, Death at a Funeral, This Christmas, and The Losers); and now he's a singer! It seems a little strange to see a man to transition from several forms of entertainment but its not uncommon. Drake went from acting to rapping successfully and Jamie Foxx went from comedy to acting to singing and back successfully. Both men at the top of their respective fields and dabble in each career field at will. So its not impossible to do it, I just didn't expect Columbus Short to have that kind of talent. He's really GOOD!


Columbus released this single Gave Ya via twitter. And oh my dear is he giving it. Singing falsetto straight out the gate, I love this song! He reminds me of Tank. The song is smooth and sexy. It is true R&B and I immediately fell in love with the music from the time I turned on the track. I couldn't believe his range and his voice. Just one more reason to love Columbus Short.

Jay Electronica released his freestyle over Soulja Boys' We Made It track. The freestyle featured Jay-Z. Although Jay Electronica is dominating on the track the focus of the song is on veteran rapper Jay-Z. Jay-Z put a little diss line in the track aimed at rapper/singer (mediocre singer #notnoshade) Drake. The reason for the diss was because recently Drake did an interview with Rollingstone magazine. In the interview he threw a little shade at Jay-Z and several other rappers. Questioning his skills and the content of his raps (here and lately), here's what he said:

“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references....I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”

So after Jay-Z heard Drake's tirade he decided that the best response was on Jay Electronica's freestyle. Here's what Jay-Z said:

"Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk," "Silly me, rappin' 'bout sh-- that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns that they ain't shot / And a bunch of other silly sh-- that they ain't got."

The Drake and Jay-Z minor beef has overshadowed Jay Electronica's master track. This is not the only time that Jay Electronica has been overshadowed on a track. Jay Electronica was also featured on Big Sean's Control track that dropped last year. The biggest attraction to the song was Kendrick Lamar calling out all the heavy weights of todays rap. And naming himself the King of New York. It sent the internet, fellow rappers, and the entire hip hop community into an uproar. However on that track Jay Electronica was on that track as well. And was overshadowed by the monster verse that Kendrick had dropped.

Last season of the Hit The Floor was good! Hit The Floor was a breakout scripted series shown on Vh1. It was placed in a good spot on Vh1, coming on right after Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta. I was skeptical at first but after watching the show I was so excited and happy that a scripted series was so full of depth, mystery, and just flat out AWESOME!

If you're not familiar with the show it follows the dance team called the Devil Girls of a LA Basketball team called the Devils. Its centered around several characters lives but the main aspect of the show is centered around a young woman named Ahsa. She's the Devil Girls newest attraction. Her dancing skills are superior but she is a little naive. Her sweet, charming personality and her unmatched dance skills made her a prime target for the dance team captain, Jelena. Jelena is a devious, conniving woman whose only concern is making herself and anyone associated with her number 1. She is sneaky and extremely manipulative. Its clear from the very beginning that you should never trust Jelena or let her know any information that could be detrimental to you, she will use it against you. Just to give you a taste of some of the drama she's cultivated: Last season Jelena was drugging her boyfriend, when he found out he was about to propose. She also is the one who revealed to Ahsa that the Coach Davenport of the Devils and former basketball player was her FATHER! This reveal was seconds before Ahsa had to perform with the rest of the girls including Jelena. She also planted the seed that caused the rift between Jelena and her former boyfriend German. She's uber nasty and I LOVE IT! Jelena is an excellent villain!


Then you've got the owner of the team killing girls, one of the former players now turned executive raped a girl, the FBI has planted Ahsa's mom Sloan in the Devils organization (how ironic, right?) to become the director of the Devil Girls to find out information about the mysterious death of the former captain Mia and the dirty deeds of the teams executives. Ahsa's father is the team coach, Ahsa's best friend is sleeping with the coach, and Ahsa is sleeping with a teammate named Derek who is a coke head and the residential bad boy. I know its a lot to take in right? Drama, sex, lies, money, death, and the FBI! Makes for one helluva show though! With the all the reality shows filling up every network its nice to have a show that is scripted drama. Something you can indulge in and not feel ashamed. Cause these are REAL actors who are portraying characters. They don't have to defend themselves like reality stars do.

In season 2 they pretty much continue where they left off. Adding a few more issues to stir the pot i.e. NEW CHARACTERS! Like Coach Davenport's WIFE! HA! LOL Check out the preview for yourself!:

Kim looks stunning on the cover of VOGUE with her soon to be husband Kanye West. After months (could be longer not sure) of Kanye constantly making his case as to why Kim should be on the cover of Vogue, Anna Wintour finally caved.

One of Kim's biggest dreams has come true. I'm sure she's on cloud 9 right now. Check out what she said on her Facebook page:

Kim fulfilled this longtime dream looking absolutely stunning in this strapless Lanvin dress. She looked like a beautiful blushing bride on her wedding day. Kanye is so focused on Kim that he's really irrelevant and unnecessary. He's basically a prop. But one thing I will say is you can tell he really adores and loves her genuinely.

I just have one question about this shoot: Why was Kanye there? For months this man was ranting and raving about how much of a star SHE is and how she should be shown respect for her celebrity status. But yet when its time for the Vogue cover he's right there with her. If it was truly all for and about Kim wouldn't she be on the cover alone? Why does it have to be about Kim, her daughter North and Kanye?

This is my problem with celebrities you want privacy yet you will put yourself and family out there for the world to see for no reason at all. Seriously? Kanye why didn't you let Kim cover the magazine by herself? And Vogue you're a fashion magazine, why did you change the content of your magazine to suit them? Vogue should've kept it about the clothes they were wearing and their fashion sense thats it. That hashtag, baby North (although she's a beautiful little baby, just as cute as can be), and the all that, not interested. Honestly giving them a spot in Vogue about their relationship and daughter is ridiculous. And truth be told I am not hating. I love the cover! Its beautiful and really show cases their love and beauty but I don't think it suits Vogue magazine. Maybe they should have went for Vanity Fair, Brides, Bridal Guide, Glamour, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, or even the New Yorker. I just felt that the this cover is not suitable for Vogue. It only benefits Kim and Kanye in my eyes. The American Vogue cover puts Kim K. on the same level as Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Rihanna, Emma Stone, Penelope Cruz, Adele, Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart, Alexa Chung, and many more celebrities. I don't think I would put Kim in that category.

I'm downing her I'm glad she's becoming more mainstream in her fame verses just every mans wet dream. She's an extremely accomplished business woman and I can definitely admire that. I feel as though this cover was forced. Kanye campaigned this cover for months, it just seems strange that he would press for HER to be on the cover and then out of no where he appears on the cover with her. If Kim Kardashian truly is the superstar that Kanye claims she is then she would've got an American Vogue magazine cover a long time ago. No campaigning needed. I'm just saying. I'm not trying to steal nobodies shine I'm just stating fact!

Anyway Congrats on the cover Kardashian-West family. Kim you look beautiful as usual. Congrats on making your dream a reality!

Well folks it looks like two of the biggest comedians/actors might star in a film together. Both are leading men in their respective fields and have the awards and box office numbers to back it up!

Kevin Hart is quite possibly the hardest working man in the entertainment industry to date. Kevin Hart has become the biggest comedian of this era. Selling out arenas all over the world. And his huge success in TV with Real Husbands of Hollywood and of course the success of the movie Think Like a Man. He had major success with the first 2 films he starred in this year (About Last Night & Ride Along) and he has more to come. Let's not forget the always popular and ever talented Jamie Foxx. Oscar winner, Grammy award winning artist, and superb comedian (a jack of all trades if you will). If you remember Jamie Foxx became a breakout star winning countless awards for his work in Ray and co-starring in Collateral opposite Tom Cruise and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Kevin Hart and Jamie Foxx are both in talks to star in the action comedy Black Phantom. Black Phantom is about a mob hit man who enlists the help of Black Phantom, the same hit man who was sent to kill him. Though the plot line is vague it appears that both of the men are going to play hit men and end up working together. This new film will be a reunion of sorts with for Kevin Hart. The director who directed Ride Along is at the helm of this new film Black Phantom.

Looks like a dream match for producers and directors alike. Kevin Hart is the new kid with a powerful driving force in comedy and action. And Jamie Foxx is no stranger to action or comedy. So putting these two heavyweights together was not only a good idea but a smart one as well. Hopefully over time the plot or synopsis of the film will be revealed so that a better idea of the movie and its characters comes to light. Beyond that all I can say is I love Jamie Foxx, I've been a fan of his since In Living Color and the Jamie Foxx Show. Kevin Hart, got mad love for him too. Been a fan of his since his 1st appearance in Comicview on BET. Back when Comicview was funny and the "it" place for comedy showcase. Anyway I hope they both sign on and I hope the movie is a major success!

Iggy Azalea's got a new man (well new to me) and new music! 2013 was a good year for Iggy. She had a sizzling GQ photoshoot with her new found love Nick Young. Her single Work, was a big hit and now Iggy has come up with another banger called Fancy feat. Charli XCX.

Fancy has a cute little video attached to it. Paying homage to the cult classic Clueless the video recreated classic scenes from the movie with Iggy Azalea as Cher. The song fancy fits the video. Its got a strong uptempo beat and Iggy's coming hard on the track. I love the song!

Iggy's got some serious talent. Aside from being extremely GAWGEOUS she is a talented rapper. She has solidified her place in the rap/hip hop game and I can say as a woman I'm glad that diversity is moving in and female rappers are becoming more common again. They should never fade out. They should come back and be stronger than ever. I hope that it happens. Between women like Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Angel Haze, Shystie, and Awkwafina female rap can represented in so many ways and that is a good thing! Hip Hop needs diversity to stay afloat. Given time I these ladies and many others can become the many faces of hip hop.

Now that Psych is on its last season, James Roday has picked up a new gig on CBS. He will be starring in a new CBS comedy called Good Session. The show is being written by John Hamburg and Matt Miller.

Here's the Plot via Deadline:
A seemingly happy couple, Joel (Roday) and Lindsay, go to a therapist to help them decide if they should have a baby but quickly discover they have more to discuss. Joel is a dedicated middle-school guidance counselor who thinks his marriage to Lindsay, a jet-setting executive, is a happy one — but when they disagree about whether the time is right to start a family, they begin the painful, funny, embarrassing and, ultimately, rewarding, road of couples counseling.

As dominant as “Adorn” was for much of last year, it seemed like once Frank Ocean dropped the bomb on Tumblr about his past relationship with a man, that he was the new “It” guy. Did you ever feel eclipsed?

MIGUEL: I don’t know if the word is eclipsed. [Long pause] That’s a really tough question to answer, man. In all reality, Frank Ocean took a big chance the way that artists are supposed to. I mean, even his album doesn’t sound like mine or anyone else’s. So sonically and how he writes and what he’s writing about and how he chooses to express himself vocally, all his choices are very unique, and I appreciate that about him. Not only did his announcement overshadow my music, but it overshadowed his as well. The general public was in awe and championing him for being brave enough to make that announcement publicly. I congratulate him for his successes. I would love to hear more of his music. He’s one of those artists that’s being himself and pushing boundaries. I gotta celebrate that.

“Wherever I go, usually I run into women and we talk about health issues, women’s issues, breast cancer, ovarian cancer. I’ve talked to men about their daughters’ and wives’ health. It makes me feel closer to other people who deal with the same things and have either lost their parents or are considering surgeries or wondering about their children,” she says. “I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people.”
