Andrew Luck the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts has solidified his contract through to 2021! The 26-year-old quarterback will receive 23.3 million a year with a guaranteed 87 million. He is now the highest paid football player in NFL history. Ousting Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens contract which is set at 22 million a year.

Andrew Luck was an amazing pick up for the Colts after Peyton Manning left for Denver. In his first 3 seasons, he was a Pro Bowl pick and he lead his team to the playoffs every year. Until he began to be plagued by injury. Luck suffered a lacerated kidney and a torn abdominal muscle, kept him down to 7 starts and a lousy 2-5 record.

But all that is water under the bridge. The Colts just picked up a major win over the Packers this past Sunday 31-26. Luck didn't start the game inspiring any confidence, though. He threw 2 interceptions in the first half and just about everyone had them counted out. But Luck pushed through and made sure his team understood that the past is the past and they still had a chance to win this. And boy did they win. Turning a damn near indefinite loss to a big win and an absolute confidence booster for the entire organization. Proving that he was well worth the money.
