In TV News...Martin Lawrence Maybe Returning to TV on Two Different Networks!

Martin Lawrence hasn't been on TV since 1997. He has produced several shows like 1st Amendment Standup on Starz and TV-1's comedy series Love That Girl but Martin hasn't appeared on a TV show as a character for an extended period of time since his highly successful stint on FOX. This was due to a nasty lawsuit brought on by his co-star Tisha Campbell. She was suing Martin Lawrence for sexual harassment, verbal, and physical abuse. HBO settled out of court and no charges were ever filed. Because of that Martin vowed to never do TV again.

Well that was 17 years ago and times have changed. Martin has decided to break that vow and return to TV! CBS has green lit a series that follows the life of a widowed father of two girls. After losing his job at a construction company he decides to follow a lifelong dream of his to join the police academy and become a cop at the age of 46. FX has also green lit a series starring Martin Lawrence (along with TV legend Kelsey Grammar) that follows 2 Chicago lawyers from different backgrounds who meet each other in court on the worst day of their lives. Ultimately they end up forming a partnership that forces them to find the balance between their personal and professional lives. The casts for both of these shows have been filled and production has begun (matter of fact the first 10 episodes of the FX series have been shot and if it does well the show will have 90 more episodes ordered by the network) and it looks like at least one of them will be premiering in during the Fall 2014 schedule. Both are still untitled but hopefully in the near future the announcement will be made!

I think its awesome that Martin is coming back to TV! I loved Martin when I was a kid. My dad is SUPER fan and he's constantly records every episode that comes on MTV2 and TV-1. I record my favorite episodes all the time! Its just too funny to pass up and I've seen it over 100 times but the humor in the show never leaves. Its just as funny as the first time I saw it. Title and airtime to be announced SOON!

Good Luck Martin, can't wait to see you on TV again and have a Happy Birthday!!!!
