Rihanna's new video What Now has been released and its, well...its something. Rihanna has been known to be controversial in her music, style and videos. But this video, this one is something to think about. In the video Rihanna is depicted in two ways a grayish white dress in a white room and in a completely black room with a black dress. Makeup (nails, face, etc) matches the attire and color of each room.

What I get from the video is that she's in a mental stage where she's being split into two. A constant asking of the question What Now would suggest that she's tired of being pulled into different directions and she just can't take it anymore. So much so that she's being split into two forms of herself, literally split into a white side and a dark side. It also appears to be a mental battle from within for Rihanna. Like she's possessed trying to break free of her mental cage. In between these glimpses of Rihanna's struggle are subliminal images of bugs, explosions, and other things that probably mean more to the director and Rihanna than we would know or care to understand. For me its a little scary but at least she's not half naked and twerking. Rihanna has tendency to be dark at times,  R was a testament to that so I expected nothing less on this track and video. So as I said before when I commented on a YouTubers video about it: Its a little scary but if thats what she wants I'm good. I definitely won't be watching it again though.
